Throughout the summer, Book Review will continue meeting at 1:00 pm on the fourth Wednesday. This summer (May, June, July, August) we plan to meet at Plaza III Restaurant, 127th & Metcalf. We will likely resume meetings at Ya Ya’s in the fall. Feedback on meeting locations is always welcome! Monthly emails go to members who signed up with “Book Review Interest”. Guests are always welcome.

We have had so much fun in our Special Interest Groups that some have decided to continue through the summer. Some SIG will be on a more limited schedule with our busy ladies during the summer months.

It will take place on Wednesday, May 15, at 10:00 a.m. We are fortunate to have Diane Deaton as our speaker and she will do a presentation on AGING GRACEFULLY. She is retired from Marion Merrill Dow where she was the Director of Leadership Education. You will find her to be very entertaining while giving us pointers on how WE TOO can gracefully age.
Our hostess will be Ann Brendle, who has kindly invited us to her home. Her address is 14103. Pawnee Lane in the beautiful Mission Prairie subdivision of Leawood. Coffee, fruit and sweet treats will be served as we all gather for this festive Spring event. Invite your new neighbors and Leawood friends to join you for the morning.

A donation has been sent to the Leawood Foundation in honor of our members Kris Rice and Elsie Ball, who recently passed away. This practice was started a few years ago as a way of remembering our members at the time of their passing. A note is then sent to the family letting them know of this honor.

Evening Dine Out is a social group for couples that meet on the 3rd Sunday on each month from September through May, for cocktails at 5-5:30 pm and dinner at 7 pm. Each month, a different couple hosts the cocktails and chooses the restaurant, informs the group members and makes the reservations. The restaurant must provide separate checks for each couple.
