At the March Board meeting, the slate of officers as presented by the Nominating Committee for 2019-20 were approved by the Board of Directors: Carol Besselievre          President; Charlene Nye, First VP;  Debbie Scrivner, Second VP Membership; Pegge Hudgins,              Secretary; Judy Kostusik, Treasurer             
The election and installation of officers will be held at the general membership meeting in April.  
The Board also voted and passed two motions:  
1)     By-Law, Article III, Section 2 will now read:  Annual membership dues will be delinquent after May 31 of each year.
2)     Standing Rule, Membership 2 will now read:  Members who pay dues by July 31 will be listed in the Yearbook. 
A new motion was made to change Article V - Elections Section 4 - Election and installation of officers will be held at the general membership meeting in the Spring instead of …meeting in May.  A vote will be taken at the April Board Meeting.

Evening Dine Out is a social group for couples that meet on the 3rd Sunday on each month from September through May, for cocktails at 5-5:30 pm and dinner at 7 pm. Each month, a different couple hosts the cocktails and chooses the restaurant, informs the group members and makes the reservations. The restaurant must provide separate checks for each couple.

Our Spring luncheon will be held on April 17th from 11:00 AM to 2.30 PM at Loch Lloyd Country Club. The Address is 16750 Country Club Drive, Belton MO.
Directions to The Club: Take 135th Street to Highway 150, turn right and continue on 150 until you reach Holmes Rd, turn right and stay on Holmes Rd. until you reach Loch Lloyd Pkwy, turn right and drive up to the entrance of the Club.  Once on the grounds, take 2nd right onto Country Club Drive and drive up to the Club House. 
The Club will be serving Loch Lloyd House Salad, Boursin Cheese Stuffed Chicken Breast with Whipped Potatoes and Asparagus, Dessert and Coffee.  Please send your $25.00 reservation check made out to LEAWOOD WELCOMERS to Karen Strange, 4305 W 110th Street, Leawood, KS 66211 before the April 10th deadline. 1.      Invite them to a luncheon, coffee, event, cards, etc. That way they can see if they like the group before they join.
2.      New Neighbor! Let Debbie Scrivner know if you'd like to have a flyer/handout/newsletter sent to them. She'll need their address.
3.      Remind them that it is only $25 a year. It's the best deal in town!
4.      Look for handouts that have been placed at the Leawood Pioneer Library and 3 places at City Hall. A handout is included in all new resident literature given out by City Hall.

Travels Far will be heading to Pella, Iowa May 3-5, 2019 for the 84th Annual Tulip Festival.  The town will be decked out with all things Dutch…traditional food, clothing and pageantry.  $150 reservation was due March 15th.  If you are interested, please call me ASAP to see if there is still room on the trip @ 816-392-0255.  This will be my last year heading Travels Far.  If there are no one volunteering to chair the group, Travels Far will merge with Travels Near (as in the past).  Thanks for the fun!
